家 - Home - is one of the earliest pieces created by artist Ryuku Otsuka in his Paris studio. It captures a quiet, serene moment of two pigeons resting together inside a park, rendered with a deep sense of calm and presence. One of only 20 prints worldwide. 

In this composition, the pigeons are accompanied by delicate Japanese-style hibiscus flowers, serving as a symbol of fragile, refined beauty. As an early milestone in the artist's journey, this deeply personal work celebrates stillness, belonging, and the quiet spaces where nature and urban life intersect.

The Technique: To capture the feeling of handmade craftsmanship, this print is produced on 250g Japanese Washi. The heavy, textured fibers of the washi give the airy subject matter a physical weight. Printed via the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100, the pigments in 12 different colors ensure that the pigeon's nuanced expression remains with color depth. It is also retouched digitally to maintain sharpness in some parts of the painting.

À travers cette œuvre, on croit entendre le frémissement des ailes d’un oiseau, percevoir le silence de la nuit, respirer le parfum des fleurs et voir la lumière se diffuser avec une infinie délicatesse. Plus encore, c’est la voix de l’artiste qui semble traverser la matière même de l’image pour entrer en dialogue avec le spectateur.
